I Suck

I really suck these days... playing guitar that is. As I mentioned a while back I joined this band that people here at work started. They bugged me until I decided to try it. I thought it would be fun and all that, and it is fun, but the truth is that I suck!

It has been at least a decade since I played anything seriously. I dink around at home from time to time but I haven't played regularly for a long time. I can play but my hand hurts a lot. Plus I am slow. It has been a bit of a struggle so far. Fun but annoying.

I am sure I will get back up to speed eventually. It shouldn't take too long, assuming I get into better practice habits. (That's a big assumption.) But the first time playing for people is in September. Yikes!

Now I need to figure out how to tell them about the song list. That is something I need to change. Hopefully we can get a 3rd guitar so I don't have to play songs I don't like. OK, some of them I hate. Like that song that goes "Keep Your Hands To Yourself". I didn't like that one when it was popular.

I like the cool songs like "Day Tripper" and "Blitzkrieg Bop". I have also introduced a Green Day song or 2. Gotta get rid of the crap. :)

Opinions are everywhere when it comes to music, no?

So we'll see how it goes the next few weeks. Maybe next time I mention the band I won't suck.
