A-Rod Calls His shot

From Yankees.com:

"Mired in a slump that left him with a mere .200 average with runners in scoring position entering the game, Rodriguez appeared to mouth "line drive, base hit" to home plate umpire Tim McClelland while Toronto catcher Gregg Zaun met with pitcher Jason Frasor (4-4) on the mound with the count at 0-2 during the crucial at-bat.

Sure enough, Rodriguez did exactly that on the next pitch, and even looked back at McClelland for an instant as he headed towards first." (Jeter and Sheffield scored on this hit.)

It's not real clear if he did call it, but I love the idea! The chances to come through with RISP will keep coming, and Alex will get back into his groove.

Let's not forget that Shef hit a double right before, putting him on 2nd and Jeter on 3rd. MVP!

August is almost over, and with it the Yankees mini slump will be over. Here's to looking ahead.
